Husk privacy policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Husk is a home and life memory app: reminders, care guides, the things in your rooms, documents and lists. This policy explains what Husk stores, where, and what happens to it. In Norwegian: huskapp.no/personvern.
In short
- We don't sell your data, and there are no ads.
- Your data is stored in the EU, and only your household sees it.
- AI is used only once you allow it, and you can turn it off.
- You can export everything and delete your account in the app.
- Questions? hei@huskapp.no
The details follow below, as the law asks.
Who is responsible
Husk is made by John Molteberg in Norway, who is responsible for the data. Contact: hei@huskapp.no.
What Husk stores
- Account: your email address, sign-in times, the household(s) you belong to and, if you add one, your first name, which the people in your households see. When you sign in with Apple, Apple gives Husk your email address, or a private relay address if you choose to hide yours.
- Profile photo: if you add one, a photo of you, stored privately in Stockholm like everything else. The app makes it a small square picture without location or camera data before it is sent. You and the people in your households see it, and no one else. No one else can see the photo once you remove it. The file itself is deleted at once, or by the next night if your phone loses its connection. A removed photo is not kept 30 days for recovery, as deleted entries are. It is deleted with your account, and Export everything includes it as profile-photo.jpg.
- Colour theme: which colour theme you have chosen in the app (Glød, Blå glød or Svart og hvitt), so it follows you to a new phone and so we can see which themes are used. It is never linked to anything else. Only you can see it, and it is deleted with your account.
- App icon: which app icon you have chosen in the app (Hvit, Sterkere glød or Blå), so it follows you to a new phone and so we can see which icons are used. It is never linked to anything else. Only you can see it, and it is deleted with your account.
- Your content: places, entries, reminders, history logs, lists, links, photos and documents you add. Text you type is yours; Husk does not sell it or use it for advertising.
- AI requests: only once you have allowed AI in the app, which you can turn off again in Settings. When you ask for a care plan, capture a photo or attach a document, the photo or document and the text needed for that request are sent to Anthropic's Claude API through our server. When you say or type something to Husk («Si det»), what you said is sent with the names of your places and recent entries, and, when it is about a list, that list's open items, so Husk can plan the change for you to confirm. We keep a count of requests per month to enforce the fair-use limit, and a cache of generic care plans (plant species, appliance type) that contains no personal information. Anthropic processes the request under its API terms and does not train on it.
- Device data: local reminders are scheduled on your device. Husk does not collect location, contacts or advertising identifiers.
- Error reports: when something goes wrong in the app, it sends a short report so the problem can be fixed: the error message and where in the app's code it happened, the screen, the app version, and whether the phone runs iOS or Android and which version. Reports are linked to your account so repeats can be counted, and only the developer can read them. You can turn error reports off in Settings.
Where it is stored
Data is stored with Supabase in the EU, in Stockholm, Sweden (Postgres database and object storage). Access from the app is restricted by row-level security to members of your household. Photos and documents are stored privately and served through short-lived signed links. Emails Husk sends, such as sign-in codes and invitations, go through Resend.
Some of these providers work outside the EU/EEA. Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA) keeps the sign-in emails, with your address, in the US for 30 days. Anthropic, PBC (USA) processes the AI requests. Supabase Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) and its subprocessors may handle data outside the EU/EEA for operations and support. These transfers rely on the EU's standard contractual clauses, and on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for providers certified under it.
Sharing a household
When you invite someone, they join only if they accept the invitation in the app; until then they see nothing. Once they join, they see everything in that household: places, entries, reminders, photos, documents and history, and the other members' profile photos. Members also see what the others in the household have added and done since they joined, never their own actions. This list is kept for 90 days. The owner can remove members. Someone who leaves or is removed stops seeing the household at once; a person's profile photo is seen only by those who share a household with them. When you hand a house over, nothing moves until the buyer accepts in their own app; then the places and the entries you selected move to the buyer's household and are no longer visible to you. Invitations and handover offers nobody answers expire after 30 days.
How long we keep it
Your data stays until you delete it or your account. Deleted entries, with their reminders, links, history and files, are kept for 30 days to allow recovery, then removed for good by a nightly job, files included. A removed profile photo is the exception: it is deleted at once, as described above. You can export everything from Settings at any time as a zip with JSON and your files, your profile photo included.
When you delete your account (Settings, Delete account), households only you belong to are deleted at once with everything and every file in them. Households you share with others stay for them; what you wrote there stays without your name on it. Your login, your profile photo and your usage records are deleted.
Error reports are deleted after 30 days, and at once with your account.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can access, correct, export and delete your data, and object to processing. Export and account deletion are available in Settings in the app; for anything else write to hei@huskapp.no. You can complain to Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority).
Children
Husk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will post changes here and note the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
